Andrea Liburdi is a trusted legal advisor with 15 years of legal experience—nearly 10 years in-house and as a General Counsel, in addition to her experience working in private practice. Before practicing law, Andrea worked for six years as a business consultant primarily focused on technology, process, and compliance. With her business focus, Andrea provides practical legal advice and creative solutions that serve her clients’ strategic business goals.
While in-house, Andrea worked in both closely-held and private equity-backed companies, and she has extensive experience advising companies on strategic matters, including corporate governance, entity management, and M&A activities. She had operational responsibility for a variety of legal matters including negotiating and overseeing contracts, managing licensing and compliance, supervising litigation and engaging in pre-litigation dispute activities, managing the intellectual property portfolio, partnering with outside counsel on real estate and employment matters, directing the law department, and working with business partners across the enterprise, including HR, finance, operations, marketing, communications, and IT. Andrea’s business partners rely on her to enable their business while effectively managing risk.
Prior to founding Liburdi Law, Andrea was a Partner at Axiom Advice & Counsel, where she led the firm’s General Counsel Services and Labor & Employment practice areas. She is also the former General Counsel of BASIS Independent Schools and BASIS Educational Ventures, and former Associate General Counsel of Spring Education Group. Early in her legal career, she was an Associate at Snell & Wilmer.
Andrea currently serves as a member of the Arizona Supreme Court Committee on Alternative Business Structures. She previously practiced in an ABS law firm, supporting management on firm operations and policies.
Andrea developed the curriculum and taught Corporate Counsel Law as an Adjunct Professor at Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law.
A native Arizonan, Andrea earned her B.S. in Economics, summa cum laude, from Arizona State University’s Barrett Honors College and her J.D. from the University of Virginia. Andrea is licensed in Arizona.
